A plethora of UMMC caregivers serve the sickest, most complex patients on four ICU floors. Once silos in themselves, the units are experiencing a culture change: Attending physicians freely talk to each other, put front-line caregivers on their rounding teams and hold most sacred the best and safest outcomes for patients.

JoJo Dodd and Joe Pongetti now wear blue UMMC scrubs as M1s, but the two were among those donning the tan fur suit of Mississippi State University’s mascot, Bully, during their undergraduate days.
